My name is Antonio Tajani and I speak Italian, French, English and Spanish. I am currently First Vice-President of the European Parliament, but I have also been Vice-President in the European Commission – in 2008 as Commissioner for Transport and from 2009 to 2014 as Commissioner for Industry and Entrepreneurship. I am also Vice-President of the European People’s Party – my fourth mandate in that role. As an MEP, I focus on relations with the Mercosur region, industry, research and energy. I combine that with my work in the Presidency of the Parliament, which includes everything from key cultural projects – like the House of European History and the Lux Prize – to security, inter-religious dialogue and relations with Latin America.
