Mairead McGuinness

I’m Mairead McGuinness, an Irish MEP, since 2014. I am a member of the Fine Gael party in Ireland and Leader of the Fine Gael Delegation in the European Parliament. I am also Vice-Chairman of the EPP Group. An economist by training, specialising in agriculture, I’ve won a few awards for my work as a journalist in the past and was voted MEP of the year for Agriculture. As an MEP, I led the negotiations on the reform of CAP Direct Payments for the EPP Group and am the Group’s lead negotiator on the Medical Devices Regulation. I chair the EPPs working group on Foreign Affairs.
