Milan Zver

I’m Milan Zver, MEP from Slovenia since 2009. I served as an advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister Jože Pučnik and later to the Minister of Defence Janez Janša. During the Slovene presidency of EU in 2008, I was President of the Council of European Union for Education, Youth and Culture.

I am a Member of the EP since 2009. I fight for a better future of young people, for development of rural areas and improvements for marginal groups in Europe. I fight for a true democracy, justice and transparency in EU. Currently I am serving as a vice-president of the Slovenian Democratic Party. I was a Minister for Education and Sports during 2004-2008 and I presided over the Council of European Union for Education, Youth and Culture during Slovene presidency of EU. I’m a father of two daughters and a grand-father of three grandsons and granddaughters. I am a passionate sportsman, a proud Slovenian and a proud European.
