Sean Kelly

I’m Seán Kelly, MEP for Ireland South since 2009. I’m a former teacher and a major sports fan. I was President of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) 2003-06 in Ireland and a Founding Executive Chairman of the Irish Institute of Sport. As an MEP, I led negotiations by Parliament’s Industry Committee on Data Protection on behalf of the EPP Group, and have promoted the importance of EU-wide science, research and innovation. I was honored with the title of MEP of the Year for Research and Innovation (2012-2013).
